A healthy and happy new year to all! one of my resolutions is to update this blog more often and I will be able to as I am knitting again!! yahoo!
actually started a cable shrug – adaptation of the Paden Shrug in the Fall Interweave. I changed the middle cables to ones that I like – but kept the outside strips. its for my mother. i had a cabled scarf i had knitted and she liked that so she got one present – but i owe her a bday present so that will work for that one. need to photo it before i leave today.
am in Baton Rouge, well, Prairieville this holiday weekend – its in the 60s so going back tonight will be a shock to the cold of New York – and I hear that it snowed yesterday! so that will be pretty i hope…. and i hope my flight back wont be horrible! fingers crossed – i have to go to Houston and then to LaGuardia. long travel day! oh well.
the bad news is that my IPOD (two years old) is broken and i cant even get it to bring up a menu – its disappointing in the extreme especially for the four hour flight i have tonight ugh! and then the whole nightmare of getting it repaired or replaced etc. its the 40 gb so it wasnt cheap and now i am not really in the mood to pay 400 for the 60 gb. sigh. and my piano is broken (more later). it seems like i am ending the year with lots of broken stuff and hopefully starting the new year getting things fixed.
i hope to swatch for the KAL that the ARAN KNIT list is starting today – will have to play catch up as I finish the shrug and then work on that – as well as two sweaters – both of my nephews have their bdays in January – ONE DAY APART ! its a conspiracy – to have christmas/hannuakah and then bdays within three weeks – no fair! so i will have to plan better next year!
last week on monday i finally unpacked and organized all my knitting projects and yarns etc. – discovered many projects ! some i had forgotten LOL. so i have them all in one basket and a great little ottoman i had found on ebay – so they are in the den where i can sit and work on them and watch tv… maybe i will do what another knitter has done in the past – pick a day for a project and work on each one on its own day and see if i can get thru them that way . its an interesting concept.
ok off to pack and get ready for the long trip home.
Happy Knitting in 2006!
