My uncle, Andre Dubus Jr. is being honoured this weekend in the first Literary Festival of Newburyport, Mass. Several of his children are participating including author Andre Dubus III (House of Sand and Fog) Info below.

“Newburyport’s first Literary Festival kicks off tomorrow with more than 60 authors, illustrators and literary folks headed for Newburyport for two days of literary immersion. The festival boasts more than 40 events in and around downtown Newburyport tomorrow and Saturday, with writers of all forms, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children’s and young adult on the program. Organizers are projecting a turnout of as many as 3,000 people eager to hear such notables in the literary field as Pulitzer Prize-winner author Richard Russo and award-winning poet X.J. Kennedy to first-time novelists discuss their craft.![]()
The festival pays tribute to late short story writer Andre Dubus Jr. of Haverhill.
