BERLIN (AP) — Placido Domingo would like to conduct at the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth. ”I have already sung there, so why should it not be possible to conduct?” Domingo was quoted as saying in an advance copy of Focus news magazine, on newsstands Monday.

The 64-year-old tenor told the magazine he planned to conduct performances in other opera houses of Wagner’s ”Lohengrin” and ”Die Walkuere” before taking on the epic ”Ring des Nibelungen.”

”I am working more and more as a conductor. Why not in Bayreuth, too?” he was quoted as saying.
